The Oceana Brands division, part of the Oceana Group Ltd, is engaged mainly in fishing for inshore pelagic species (pilchard and anchovy) and in the production, distribution and marketing of canned fish products under the Lucky Star label and cat food under the Lucky Pet label.

Fleet
Oceana operates an extensive and versatile fleet of steel, wooden and fibreglass vessels from four ports around the Southern African coastline.

Canneries
The canneries at St Helena Bay in South Africa and Etosha in Namibia source fish from their own fleets, joint venture partners and contract vessels. Internationally accredited canneries, they processes pelagic fish to support brands marketed by Oceana Brands.

Fishmeal and Fish Oil
Three plants produce fishmeal from anchovy and redeye herring. Fishmeal and oil are used primarily as components in animal and aqua feeds.
